Your long thesis came a bit early. Looks like $4.xx may be a good entry point. Reply

I apologize sir, I was referring to a $10,000,000 cash infusion that was deferred from Q1. I missed a few 000's. Reply

The company 'reported' a net loss on their income statement this most recent quarter because of a function of GAAP accounting. I'd suggest to look beyond the bottom line "Net Income" figure and see what the company is earning on its invested tangible capital. The company's first casino is actually very, very profitable. The Crown Macau is on track to earn a return on invested capital of 60% (You can refer to the most recent conference call transcript for an explanation and verification from the company's CFO, or you can analyze the income statement relative to tangible capital). That is actually quite amazingly profitable for a casino. Analyst estimates have come down, yet in spite of this most analysts rate the company a buy and explain why so in their reports.

As for a $10,000 accounting inflation...I am not sure what you are referring to. Regardless, $10,000 is an immaterial amount.

I appreciate your criticisms, however I lean to the bullish side because I am just that, Bullish on the company.

Mr. Waddell, you present plenty of reasons to own MPEL, but have failed to write a fair, or even somewhat balanced piece.

You speculate as to why the price per share of MPEL is so low, and can only come up with Visa restrictions, and a luckluster gaming sector. Could it have anything to do with the fact that MPEL recently reported a loss when a profit was expected? Or that analysts earnings estimates for the year have come down by over 60% from initial estimates?

What are you thoughts on management missteps since day 1? Are you aware that Q2 was improperly inflated by over $10,000usd, as the result of an accounting method being utilized?

If you write any future articles on any of your positions, I would reccomend doing a piece that is at least a little less one sided.

    edward lord clarendon.

hedge fund 13f filings with the SEC only report LONG holdings. so if they added, they added to their long. if they reduced, they sold off some of their long. they are not required to report short positions.

kind of common knowledge regardless though, that when funds in general talk about "holdings" they are referring to their longs.

Having only discovered your site recently I must say I am more impressed with each new article such as Hedge Funds portfolio activity. Also noticing Tremblant's portfolio added to anad position tells me they feel as bullish as I on them but expect perhaps a sprd investment soon at these prices for an obvious solid long term play.
