EBAY has announced that it has acquired a small company called VUVOX. VUVOX focuses on allowing users to produce and share personal media including video, photos and music. Terms of the deal were not disclosed although EBAY did announce the VUVOX team would be hired as eBay employees and join the design and development teams in San Jose. EBAY also stated that the acquisition would help further develop rich media capabilities in the EBAY marketplace.

    What on earth are they planning to do with such expertise? More bells and whistles which use up bandwidth but don't enhance the buyer experience?
